Our vision is to equip Pre-school and Primary School age children with the tools needed to develop a life long love of literacy. There are children who for various reasons may have missed the basics in their formal literacy schooling. Therefore, we endeavour through our literacy classes to assess each child’s needs and build a scaffold from which they can build on independently. The Literacy classes are presented in an exciting environment with the use of an active white board. This allows children to learn visually and be active participants in all oral, writing and reading activities. These children have grown up in a technological world therefore, it is vital that we use tools that will enhance learning. We are conscious that these resources are only tools. Children are encouraged to ask questions, learn from mistakes which all leads to feeling more confident to ‘Have a Go’. We have a few videos to show you some of the things we do. We also provide lessons for those who have not yet started their formal education at school. Our aim is to prepare children so they have an easy transition into school. These lessons are performed in a relaxed non threatening environment incorporating books, games, gross motor and fine motor activities. We have the latest resources that help children achieve at their own pace.
